Serial 1, which is a brand from Harley-Davidson. Revealed on Tuesday the 23rd, the release of a new e-mountain bike that has no suspension what so ever.

Can you really call it a mountain bike? Is it usable in the tracks? That’s the question people are asking themselves after this reveal. With a rigid aluminium frame a lot of fans are concerned about the performance of the Bash/MTN. The E-bike has a SR Suntour NCX seat post which functions as the bike’s only suspension but it only has 50mm of travel.

The lack of suspension is actually one of the reasons to buy this E-bike according to Harley-Davidson. The company stated “No fussy suspension to tune, no finicky drivetrain to adjust — just two wheels, one gear, and one purpose, to provide the most direct connection between you and the trail,”.

If you fancy the unique design and you are interested, you should know some of the other features it includes. it has a removable 529Wh battery that should give you around 30 to 95 miles of range (48km to 152km for my European readers). Which is a wide span but it depends a lot on the drive mode and of course terrain. You can go from an empty battery to fully charged in around 5 hours. At 20 miles an hour (32km/h) the bike will stop giving you assistance. The E-bike also features TRP hydraulic disc brakes and 27.5-inch tubeless-ready tires from Michelin.

The price for this e-mountain bike is fairly low at 3,999$ if you compare it to other mountain bikes. But then again, the fact that you basically have no suspension it should come with a less hefty price tag.
