HBO Max starts today in 15 European countries – unfortunately Germany and Austria not included. The launch offers with up to 50% discount are extremely tempting.
So now the time has come: As of today, HBO Max is present in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Montenegro, Moldova, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. Warner Media’s streaming service will also replace HBO Espana and HBO Go in the respective regions. 4K and HDR10 / Dolby Vision plus Dolby Atmos are integrated. HBO Max now reaches 61 markets.
Up to 50% discount for life!
Warner’s offering has thus spread to almost as many markets as Disney+. However, you are still at a disadvantage compared to Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. Depending on the region, HBO Max starts with high discounts that should apply for life – as long as the account is not canceled. The discounts range from 33 to 50 percent. For example, the price for the basic tier with 720p and one stream (5 downloads) can be reduced to just €2.99 per month. The standard package with 4K and three parallel streams (30 downloads) is only €3.99. However, this deal can only be claimed for a limited period of time.
HBO Max is not coming to Germany
Why doesn’t HBO Max start in Germany? There is an existing deal with pay TV provider Sky, which is rumored to last until at least 2025. And Warner Media has also just negotiated a new license agreement with RTL+. HBO Max shows films such as “Dune”, “The Suicide Squad” and “King Richard”, as well as exclusive series such as “Peacemaker”. And who could forget “Rick and Morty” whose latest seasen is currently showing on Netflix.
